How well do you know the problem you are solving?

Most continuity work fails because it starts with process. This starts with meaning.

Why it comes first

Context before content.

Content without context is noise. Assets, campaigns and programs that sound right and don't land, because the problem they answer was never clearly named.

In one facilitated session we map your client's landscape of needs and problems, then define the response your effort is actually built on. Without that anchor, you run the risk of building something for the sake of building it.

Your client is the hero. Your brand is the guide. Your product is the plan.

What you leave with

Five things, written down.

Not notes. Working documents your team can use on Monday.

A controlling idea

One sentence that governs everything downstream. If a decision doesn't serve it, it doesn't get made.

A client card

Who you serve, named and specific, in one sentence. Not a segment. A person.

A needs landscape

The five problems you exist to solve, weighted by what they cost your client and how well you're equipped to answer them.

A coverage matrix

Your offerings against those problems. This is the uncomfortable one: it shows which program is load-bearing and which has a constituency but no weight.

A brand script

The seven-part narrative that puts your client at the center of a transformative story.

How the room runs

Shared inquiry, not a presentation.

Three rules, and they're the reason the continuity starts in the room rather than after it:

  1. The facilitator doesn't answer their own questions.
  2. Every claim gets backed with a real example.
  3. Everyone gets equal airtime.

Your team doesn't receive the answer. They build it, which is the only version they'll defend six months later.

Before we start

What to have ready.

A decision-maker in the room

Someone with the authority to set direction and make calls. When that person isn't present, the session produces suggestions instead of decisions.

A whiteboard, or a shared digital board

The larger the better. This is where the landscape and the connections between things take shape in real time.

Sticky notes and markers

One idea per note. The colour-coding does real work once we start grouping problems by weight.

The right people

Your stakeholders, your staff, the product owner, and where it helps, your best clients.

A few uninterrupted hours

Half a day, properly cleared. This is not a meeting you can half-attend.

Running remote? Same exercises in a shared digital workspace. No physical supplies, just each participant on their own device and one large screen wherever people are gathered together.
